Last week I shared about some of the novels that are coming out in the second half of the year that I’m looking forward to.  One of those was Rules of Murder by Julianna Deering.  I read this fun novel over the course of three evenings while little else was accomplished around my house!  Here is a look at the book:

Rules of MurderDrew Fathering loves a good mystery, although he generally expects to find it in the pages of a novel, not on the grounds of his country estate.

With the help of beautiful and whip-smart Madeline Parker, a guest from America, Drew proposes to use the lessons he’s learned reading his mysteries to solve the crime.  Before long, he realizes this is no lark, and no one at Fathering Place is who he or she appears to be – not the butler nor the blackmailer, the chauffeur nor embezzler.  Trying hard to remain one step ahead of the killer – and trying harder to impress Madeline – Drew must decide how far to take this dangerous game.

In the same vein of an Agatha Christie novel, Julianna Deering gives us a unique and extremely fun read that will have you trying to solve the murder along with Drew and his friends.  Just when Drew thinks he might have found a clue as to who committed the murder, another clue turns up that throws his theory (and yours) right out the window.   It really is a book that has you guessing until the end.

My favorite part of the novel was the witty banter.  It is authentic English conversation that had me feeling like I was reading the script to a Mrs. Marple movie.   What a refreshing addition this is to the Christian fiction market!  I am eagerly awaiting the second book in the Drew Fathering Mystery series next spring.

P.S.  Don’t you love the cover?!
