My favorite posts on A Novel Bookshelf
We’re hitting the time of the year when everyone starts their top this or that of 2013. I thought I’d join in the fun with some of my favorite posts on our blog for the last year. It’s been fun to look back and see all that we have had going on this year. It’s been a busy year! I’m so appreciative of all of you who following A Novel Bookshelf!
March 18 Review of Love in a Broken Vessel by Mesu Andrews
I am not a writer nor do I ever claim to be but this post reminds me of how God can sometimes get my juices flowing when I start to write about a book. The idea of this post came during a sermon at church that I should have been listening to! Mesu’s book remains one of my favorite reads for the year.
April 15 Duck Commander Giveaway
We will occasionally use this blog to promote nonfiction titles and that’s just what we did back in April when we ran a giveaway on some Duck Commander books and duck calls. This post remains one of the highest traffic precipitants out of all the blogs at LifeWay Christian Resources. It is still talked about in meetings!
April 16 A Day at Belle Meade Plantation with To Whisper Her Name by Tamera Alexander
I love doing “Flat Stanley” trips with one of our books. This spring my best friend and I took off to Belle Meade Plantation here in Nashville which is where Tamera Alexander set her novel To Whisper Her Name at. It was a lovely day except for when I got in trouble with the tour guide. Some people just don’t know how to have fun!
April 23-25 Office Tours with Popular Authors
It’s always fun to pop in and see where some of our favorite authors do their writing. Some stay at home while others scoot off to a coffee shop or a cabin to write.
May 14-15 Influential Books
I really had fun with these posts. I had the opportunity to ask some of today’s top authors, both fiction and nonfiction writers, about what book has had a big influence on their lives. Their responses spanned a wide range of books and topics.
June 16 The Christy Awards
I had the privilege of attending The Christy Awards in June. It was a fun night of eating dinner with authors, hearing the keynote speech by a top industry agent, and seeing who all won the awards.
Coming next week!
I’ll be announcing my favorite novels of 2013! This is always one of our top posts of the year and we get lots of fun discussion going. I’ll be sharing my list on Tuesday!
