Favorite author lunch
A few weeks ago, a co-worker (shout out to Ruth!) and I got to chatting about authors that we would love to go to lunch with. Yes, these are the deep discussions we have at work! So that got me thinking… who would you like to spend time with?
If you could have a nice long lunch with some of your favorite authors, who would it be?
Around my lunch table, preferably some quaint outside café on a warm spring day, I would have…
Laura Frantz, Dani Pettrey, Julie Klassen
Tamera Alexander and Mesu Andrews
My table is getting full so I had better stop. Why these ladies? Well, for one thing, I’ve met them all and they are all just lovely and having them all at one table would be epic. I love to be at a table full of novelists. Even if I don’t say much, I love to listen in on their conversations with each other. I learn so much about the writing process and always walk away with an even greater admiration for the work authors put into an amazing book.
I could imagine that my imaginary lunch would be a loud one with all the laughter that would be coming from our table. I’m sure we’d garner plenty of looks from the others around us.
Oh, and yes, I thought about throwing in a male novelist like Randy Singer or James Rubart. But when I saw that my table was quickly filling up with ladies, I thought it might be best to save whatever poor man from an afternoon of women’s chit-chat. Goodness knows the topic wouldn’t stay on just books, right ladies?
